Coaching Philosophy

 

 

 


 

I think we all need dreams.  When we are kids we dream about who we want to be when we grow up.  Firefighter, doctor, astronaut, professional sports player, ….  When we grow up we still dream, but may not have the right tools to achieve our athletic goals.  That is where Big Red Coaching comes in.  I will help train you to achieve a marathon PR, to get healthy, or to complete your first Ironman distance triathlon. My coaching philosophy is to design a training program that fits your lifestyle and will still allow you to achieve your dreams. 

  

I will assess your strengths and weaknesses with an initial evaluation.  We will then work together to determine your season goals as well as monthly focus goals.  Each workout will be designed with a specific training purpose in mind.  We will communicate primarily via email but during your key races I will be available by both email and phone to offer additional support.  In addition to offering training plans I will also offer secrets that I have learned through my own racing experience.  These training secrets range from attacking the mental side of training and racing to determining the best race nutrition plan to improving your recovery.
